Alia Toorani is a Middle Eastern American editor currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. Fresh off her job as Edit Room Assistant on FX's The Bear, Toorani is excited to bring practical knowledge of how a high caliber edit room functions to her work.

     As part of the inaugural class of 2024 interns for the NY branch of American Cinema Editors, Toorani was privileged to be mentored by some of the best currently working in post-production.

     Currently editing a documentary short that is sponsored by the Alabama State Council on the Arts, Toorani is a varied editor; her personal practice ranges from documentary and narrative pieces to 2D stop-motion animatics.

     When not working, you can find Toorani baking a mean brown butter chocolate chip cookie, or trying to figure out how to maximize the amount of film screenings she can fit in her Google Calendar.
